Crossley Heath Association: Latest News

We are absolutely delighted to tell you that the final figure raised at the Craft Fayre in November 2011 was £3,804.32 which is an absolutely fantastic amount! Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible including donations, cake baking, sponsorship and help on the actual day.  Recently we have been able use funds raised to buy much needed  furniture for the 6th form work area, visualisers for various departments in the school, and specialist melting apparatus for the chemistry department . We have also agreed to give a significant amount to the school to fund work experience in October 2012 for the current year 10 pupils . This is an extremely valuable experience for these children which may not have been offered this time without the fundraising efforts of yourselves, and other supporters of the CHA and the school.  With continued support from everyone we will hopefully  be able to continue to raise funds to help finance the work experience for our children in future years, and other educational  projects and equipment for the school .

New Crossley Heath iPhone app

One of our Year 9 students Daniel Rice has created an iPhone app for the school. The concept behind it allows staff, students and visitors to keep up to date with all the latest school news as well as easy access to information such as the school calendar. Daniel promises to continue to develop and improve the application with new features coming soon including timetable access. In addition Daniel informs us that an Android version is coming soon.

To download the app, visit the apple store > http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/crossley-heath-grammar-school/id491122834?mt=8

or search Google/Apple store for “Crossley Heath app”

Industrial Action Update

As you will be aware the following unions, NAHT, NASUWT, NUT, ATL, UNISON, GMB, Unite and UCATT have voted for industrial action on Wednesday 30 November 2011.

A risk assessment has been carried out and regrettably the industrial action will mean that we will be unable to ensure the health and safety of students within the school.

The Governors have therefore taken the decision to close the Crossley Heath School to all students on Wednesday 30th November 2011. Please do not sent your son/daughter to school on that day.
